The preparatory conference for the 6th session of China International Consumer Goods Fair ( CICGF) was held on Jan 10th,2007. with officials and representatives from 21 provinces and municipalities, as well as from Canton Fair and China's major Chambers of Commerce for Import and Export. Mr. Liang Shuhe, Vice Director, Department of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Commerce, PRC. , presided at the conference. CICGF now is the second largest international fair in China sponsored by Ministry of Commerce, PRC, only after Canton Fair. The 6th CICGF will be held from June 8th to 12th in Ningbo, China

According to the conference, 3,000 booths will be set up at the fair, which will be divided into 6 exhibiting sections: household textiles and garments, electronics and home appliances, office supply sports articles and furniture, decoration and gifts, articles of daily use, foodstuffs. Trade service including international sourcing will be arranged. Over 1,500 exhibitors, more than 30,000 high quality products, about 10,000 foreign clients and over 20,000 domestic buyers will be attending.

Brand Promotion Hall will be arranged for the first time, further promoting famous Chinese export brands. Yacht expo will be a part of the fair also for the first time. Another feature is the encouragement of overseas exhibitor participation. More foreign enterprises will be invited and encouraged to have their booths at the fair.
